Boy Hits Car FAQ

Louis, CRegg, and Scott all grew up together from early childhood. Louis and CRegg were neighbors in the same condo complex and knew each other since they were mere toddlers wearing diapers. Scott lived a mile away so it wasn't until the beginning of elementary school that his path crossed with theirs.

Louis and Scott didn't really cross paths until Louis ripped off one of Scott's friends with a crappy BMX bike at the age of 11. They went and hunted him down, and found Louis had already spent the money at a local arcade, but somehow or another, the two became friends.

In 1990 CRegg had an idea about a band. Louis knew how to play guitar, Scott had a Bass, and CRegg was an excellent singer. They played around with a few drummers, and nothing resulted.

Michael (drums) was born and reared in Los Angeles until his dad's job transferred the family to Connecticut. He adjusted and life was good until his dad's job relocated the family again, this time uprooting Michael's ties and landing him at the beginning of his 10th grade year in a small country town, just a blip on the map somewhere in Texas. "That's where my nightmare began," Michael puts it. A small, fast-talking city kid, he stood out from the crowd, never really fitting in, and became a self-professed "loner." It was during that time that he spent countless hours locked away in his room playing drums. He played in many bands and eventually his drumming brought him back to L.A.

Michael auditioned for a band that posted a "Drummer wanted" ad in the paper, and in February of 1993 Boy Hits Car was born.

After that, BHC played gigs on the local circuit playing in crappy time slots, for next to no one. In 1995 an agent got a hold of a BHC demo tape and sent them on a 6 week tour. Once home, they played more gigs and wrote more music.

They did more tours, and in 1997 recorded "My Animal" (released in 1998). After 2 weeks, the label dropped BHC because of low record sales. Toward the end of 1999, record companies were taking an interest in the band, and they eventually signed with their number 1 choice, Wind Up Records, in January 2000.

BHC played on a few Snocore dates in february 2000, opening for bands such as Incubus, System of a down, and Mr. Bungle. Their newest, self titled cd was released on January 9th 2001, and since then, BHC has been playing a handfull of American and European dates with practically no rest!! If you would like to know what BHC is currently up to, check the tour dates!
