Frequently Asked Questions
Q. Do you travel outside of London?

A. Yes, we travel all over the UK and abroad to provide all of our serives. There is always an additional travel charge to cover our expenses, but they are minimal. If the artist has to stay overnight or come the night before, hte accomodation will have to be provided and is not included in the travel charges.

For example: Full Bridal Mehndi in Birmingham will be £165, plus £50 travel charge. However, if you want to have your mehndi done in the evening, accomodation will have to be provided unless the artist can catch the last train back.

Q. What are your travel charges?

A. We now have a list of set of travel charges for popular cities/places. Does not include accomodation costs, if applicable. However, please keep in mind they are subject to change and may differ to your location. If you aren't sure, contact us and we'll give you an exact quote.

Q. How long does it take to do bridal mehndi?
A. It all depends on the pattern, however it's on average between 1 - 2 hours for full bridal mehndi (hands and feet).
Have a look at these examples:
Simple patterns for guests don't take longer then 3-5 min per pattern. On average Amira, our senior artist, can do 20-25 simple strip patterns, as in the picture, per hour.
This particular design style can be achieved in 30 minutes flat. On the back of the hands is a simple strip coming down from the elbow to the index finger. Due to the speed of the which the design has been created the crispness of the pattern is of lower quality.
These type of designs are usually favoured at Bengali Mehndi nights where time is limited.
More detailed and crisp Indo-Arabic style designs (as above) are very popular and don't take long to do at all.
Within 60 min you will have your hands covered in this beautiful style.
For more intricate designs like this one it will take more time as precision is the key to make it look perfect. Depending on how high up the arm you want to go this will take about 90 minutes to complete with a simple strip on the back of the hand.
Full on traditional style mehndi on both hands and feet takes some time, although 240 min (4 hours) is fast seeing as its really intricate and detailed on both the hands and the feet.
Q. Who does the mehndi/makeup and do you have more artists available?
A. Our main artist Amira does all the bookings for Mehndi and make-up. But we have several mehndi artists and make-up/hair stylists on stand by.

Amira has almost 9 years of professional experience and specilises in Asian bridal beauty. Her style of mehndi is highly favoured by modern brides who want a fusion of traditional and modern day patterns and want it FAST! Her make-up style is to make every client look natural and radiant. Cakey make-up and 'standard' bridal looks is something Amira refuses to do as every bride deserves to look unique in her own beautiful way.
Q. Have you [Amira] been trained by Ash Kumar?
A. No. Amira has had no training in Mehndi. All her skills are what they are by practicing on a regular basis and determination to succeed.
Most of our mehndi artists on stand by have been personally trained by Amira to assure that they are knowledgeable in the art and are capable of providing professional standard designs.
Q. Are you [Amira] Asian?
A. No. Amira is Dutch. This may be a 'shock' to many, but you will be pleasantly surprised to find out that this may actually be an advantage. Amira has an 'outsider' point of view on everything Asian. She is able to focus more on what is important and make sure that her work is up to professional standard by adding a fusion of Western culture in the mix of Asian 'traditions' that is favoured by most Brit-Asian clients.
